Become a companion driver
This is more than driving. Our companion drivers help people get to appointments, get out and about, and get home safely, with patience, kindness and a steady arm. If that sounds like you, we'd love to hear from you.
What the role involves
- Meeting passengers at their door and helping them in and out of the vehicle
- Calm, safe driving to appointments, hospital, the shops and outings
- Walking with passengers into reception, and sometimes staying with them (we call this Attend & Support)
- Using our Driver app for each trip, so families get updates along the way
- Treating every passenger with dignity, warmth and respect
What you'll need
- A full New Zealand driver licence and a clean driving history
- A P (passenger) endorsement, or willingness to get one
- To pass NZ Police vetting
- A current first aid certificate, or willingness to train
- A suitable vehicle, or the ability to drive one of ours. Talk to us about vehicles

We don't ask for bank details here. We'll sort out the rest of the paperwork with you if you're approved.
